Utility bills are the hardest part of rent
Working out a flat's electricity bill from slab rates takes a calculator and patience.
Readings live on scraps of paper, and last month's number is never where you need it.
Copying each meter's amount onto each tenant's rent bill invites mistakes.
How it works
From reading to rent bill
- 1
Add each meter
Electricity, gas, water or a utility of your own, for a flat, a shop or the common area, with the provider's account details if you want them.
- 2
Choose how it is billed
A fixed amount, one rate per unit, or slab rates. Start from a ready-made residential tariff and adjust it.
- 3
Enter the reading
Last month's reading carries over. Type the new one and the units, the slab breakdown and the total are calculated.
What you get
Built around how utility bills really work
Slab rates with the life-line rule
Tiered tariffs with the life-line rule, demand charge, meter rent, VAT and late fee, as on the paper bill.
Ready-made tariff presets
Start from residential and other tariff plans, then edit the rates. Earlier bills keep the rates that applied at the time.
Electricity, gas, water and more
The three common utilities are built in. Add your own, like a generator, measured in kWh, cubic metres, litres or units.
Goes straight onto the rent bill
Link a flat's charge to its meter, and that month's meter bill fills in the charge when you generate rent.
Corrections with a reason
Fix an earlier reading and the later months are recalculated, with the change and the reason kept in a log.
History for every meter

Common questions
Can it calculate electricity bills with slab rates?
Yes. Choose slab-rate billing and start from a residential tariff preset with its slabs, life-line rate, demand charge and VAT. Every rate can be edited.
Does it work for gas and water too?
Yes. Electricity, gas and water are built in, and you can add other utilities. Each meter can use a fixed amount, one rate per unit, or slab rates.
What happens when the tariff changes?
Give the new rates the date they take effect. New bills use them; bills already made keep the old rates.
Does the meter bill go onto the tenant's rent bill automatically?
Yes, if you link the flat's charge to the meter. When you generate the month's rent, that month's meter bill is filled in, and you can still change it.
